What the Unfocus Group is not

Although the Unfocus Group celebrates non-conformity, it does not mean that we should become fundamentalists and reject all aspects of mainstream thought. There is nothing wrong with having a 9 to 5 job, going to nightclubs or brushing your teeth twice a day like everyone else. Deliberate contrarianism is just as stupid as blind populism. All we are asking is that each member of the human race unlocks the power of their minds, and considers issues with regard to their own beliefs rather than perceived social norms.
Though we are an inclusive organisation, we are also discerning. I don't think that we should do a “John Peel” and pretend that all ideas are equally valid. Judgement is allowed in the Unfocus Group. However, we should encourage counter-argument rather than deletion of daft ideas.
