The decline in religion has led to a new set of ritualistic patterns that are almost exactly the same in their nature, yet far more deeply entrenched, because there is a complete absence of debate about them:
- Scientism
- Bureaucracy
Types of people include:

True Believers
Such people evangelise the System.
Reluctant followers
Such people question the system and find it intractable, but feel that it's not their place to question it - it would be heresy.
Quiet sceptics
Such people just suffer the system.
Zeal
There is a lot to be said for zeal being a primary reason as to why a system works initially - the zealots really want to make it work.
